Your Telsen Bluetooth probe allows you to automatically record temperatures during HACCP checks, making your process faster, more accurate, and fully traceable. Follow the steps below to connect your probe and keep it running smoothly.

Before You Begin

Before connecting your probe, make sure:

  • The probe is on and Bluetooth is enabled.

  • Bluetooth is turned on for your mobile device.

  • You are logged in to the Telsen mobile app with an active internet connection.

  • You are within Bluetooth range (approx. 5–10 metres).

Step 1: Connect Your Probe

  1. Open the Telsen mobile app.

  2. Navigate to the HACCP tab.

  3. Open your probe and it should automatically connect

  4. If this does not, tap Connect Probe

  5. Wait a few seconds while the app scans for available devices.

  6. When your probe appears in the list, tap to connect.

Step 2: Reconnecting a Probe

If your probe disconnects or goes out of range:

  1. Make sure the probe is still powered on and nearby.

  2. The app will try to reconnect automatically.

  3. If it doesn’t, simply tap the probe name again to reconnect manually.

Note: If your probe was disconnected mid-check, you can continue the workflow by switching to Manual Mode (see below) and resume automatic readings once the probe reconnects.

Step 3: Handling Connection Issues

ScenarioWhat HappensWhat to Do
Probe goes out of Bluetooth rangeThe probe appears as unavailable.Move closer to the device and reconnect.
App is restartedThe app remembers your last paired probe and will try to reconnect automatically.Wait for it to reconnect or tap manually if needed.
Probe not appearing in listMay be out of range, unpaired, or low on battery.Restart the app and re-scan for devices
Multiple probes nearbyThe app lists all available probes.Select the correct probe name from the list.

Tip: If you use multiple probes, label or rename them on the desktop, to avoid confusion when connecting.

Step 4: Switching Between Probes (If Applicable)

If your site uses multiple probes:

  1. Disconnect the current probe you do not wish to use

  2. Select the new probe from the list of available devices.

  3. Data will now be logged from the selected probe.

Step 5: Switching to Manual Mode (If Needed)

If your probe cannot reconnect, you can still complete your HACCP checks manually:

  1. In the HACCP tab, tap the Change option in the top-right corner.

  2. Select Manual Mode.

  3. Enter temperature readings manually for each step and submit your check.

You can switch back to probe mode once the device reconnects.
